Dr. Berger’s mission is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of all procedures and therapies at the Medical Day Spa of Chapel Hill. Dr. Berger’s degrees include a B.A. with honors from Harvard; M.D. from the University of Rochester; and M.S.P.H. from UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Berger is well known for his contributions to microsurgery and women’s health and is board certification in preventive medicine. Dr. Berger has extensive experience using lasers for medical and cosmetic treatments and also has advanced training in cosmetic injection procedures including dermal fillers (Juvederm, Belotero, Radiesse) and neuromodulators (Botox).

Julia Kemp Smith, R.N. is a co-founder and is Managing Partner of Medical Day Spa of Chapel Hill. She received her nursing degree in 1983. Julia is certified as an Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator and Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant. Julia was the Administrator of Chapel Hill Surgical Center for 16 years where she developed expertise in surgical practice management and JCAHO survey preparations. She has also managed two medical practices and founded a health and wellness business. Julia’s mission is to ensure that your spa experience here is the best you have ever had.

Stephanie is a registered nurse who has a master’s degree in Nursing Administration. She has worked at UNC Hospital and Duke University Medical Center. Stephanie has also served as Co-Administrator of Chapel Hill Surgical Center. She has a special interest in laser technology and received training and laser certification at the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. Stephanie uses the CO2 laser, Nd:Yag laser, and IPL for skin resurfacing, scarring, hyperpigmentation, superficial veins, and other skin problems and enjoys helping people feel better about their appearance.

Jennifer is a caring and friendly registered nurse who received her BSN degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. She has worked at UNC Hospitals and as Patient Care Coordinator at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. Jennifer has a strong interest in skin care and holistic medicine and started formal training in skin care therapies in 2011. She has completed Botox and Juvederm training with Advanced Aesthetics.

Felicity is a patient focused registered nurse with over 17 years of experience providing hands on nursing care, case management, and patient education. She obtained her nursing degree in 1995. As an avid spa client, Felicity made a career move in 2012 to become an Aesthetic Nurse. She has received training in injection techniques with Botox and Juvederm and Belotero dermal fillers as well as with the CO2 laser. She joined Medical Day Spa of Chapel Hill to “work in an aesthetic facility where the resources and professional environment support excellent patient service”.

Jessica has a B.S. degree from Missouri State University and is a graduate of the Body Therapy Institute (BTI), a leader in training professional massage therapists. After a year of additional training, in 2010 she became a certified medical massage therapist. In addition, Jessica has completed extensive continuing education courses including aromatherapy, trigger point, sports massage for runners and active isolated stretching. Jessica’s interest in holistic care, physical fitness and maintaining total wellness helps her clients achieve their individual goals through massage and self-care education. Jessica enjoys working with all individuals and has a particular interest in helping migraine sufferers, athletes, and individuals with orthopedic conditions.

Irina is a Licensed Massage Therapist who practiced as a registered nurse in Russia before moving to the US. She is a graduate of the Massage College in St. Petersburg, Russia; the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington D.C.; and the American-European Massage School in Raleigh, NC. Irina is well trained and experienced in deep tissue, Russian sport, Swedish, and therapeutic massage. Irina’s nursing education and extensive massage training and experience enhance her understanding of human anatomy and physiology. She provides massage not only for relaxation, but also to help people recover from injury and maintain optimal health and well being.

Ericka has worked in the healthcare field in office management for more than 17 years where she has created an environment with high standards and excellent service. Her strong work ethic and thirst for learning have made her a successful leader. Ericka enjoys meeting the needs of spa patients, clients, and staff.

Anne is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and has 35 years of experience in Quality Assurance, management, and training. Her mission is to ensure that each person who comes to the Medical Day Spa of Chapel Hill receives world class service – from the first phone call through each service provided. If you need anything, ask Anne and she will make sure it is taken care of for you.

Chelsea is a graduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill. As an Administrative Assistant at Medical Day Spa, she ensures that each visit is smooth and effortless for every patient and client. Chelsea is here to anticipate everything you need to unwind and truly enjoy your spa experience.
